Liberty University – Gun Club Lodge

Central Virginia is an active shooting sports area of the Commonwealth. Instruction on gun safety and correct usage is difficult to find in universities. Liberty University recognized the interest of its students and constituents and constructed a shotgun range at the top of Liberty Mountain.
The range is used both for instruction and sport. Trap and skeet participants use shotguns to shoot moving clay targets. A year after the range was constructed, the University built a one-story lodge with a basement to serve the gun club. The building houses its offices and locker room and includes a large vaulted meeting room. The rear of the lodge has a deck for viewing the shotgun range. The basement serves as a storage area for the entire complex.
